The mission of the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD) is to promote access to the Commonwealth of Virginia’s contracting opportunities by administering the certification process §2.2 1604, a vehicle to promote economic growth of Virginia’s businesses.

SourceLink Virginia is a project of the Virginia Community Economic Network (VCEN). This free online portal is designed to connect aspiring, emerging, and established entrepreneurs to business assistance providers who can help them grow and succeed.

VCEN is an independent, statewide nonprofit that serves as a convener, thought leader, and public voice for the creation and expansion of community economic opportunities throughout the Commonwealth.

The Virginia Jobs Investment Program of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership provides customized recruiting and training services to companies that are creating new jobs or experiencing technological change. The Virginia Jobs Investment Program offers consulting services, organizational development support, electronic media services and funding.

The Virginia Employment Commission screens and refers job applicants based on job orders received from employers. Services to employers include: labor market information; job orders advertised on local, state and national levels; office space for conducting interviews; and typing proficiency testing.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), Going Global Defense Initiative mitigates the impact of defense spending cuts on Virginia’s economy. As a part of this initiative, eligible defense-related companies can receive assistance with strategy, compliance, matchmaking, translation, contracts, and more.

Virginia’s Division of International Trade assists Virginia companies in expanding international sales or entering into the export business. Services offered include individualized counseling and tailored programs to help exporters at all stages and levels of the exporting process.

Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) is the VEDP’s marquee international trade program that helps Virginia companies gain a profitable foothold in global markets. VALET combines three essential ingredients—planning, expertise and capital—to generate an increase in international sales opportunities for Virginia businesses.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) promotes Virginia as a location for new domestic and international business facility locations and existing facility expansions.
