Meet Our Small Business Team

Meet the experienced professionals working behind the scenes to help you succeed.

We are committed to fostering a thriving small business community in Prince William County. Our small business leader, Michele Weatherly, has decades of experience in business development and a keen understanding of what business owners are looking for as they are starting out or expanding.

We work closely with the County’s small business service providers to ensure you receive the quality assistance you need, creating a business plan, or learning about taxes. Michele will also continue to develop resources such as the “Tools You Need to Start and Grow Your Small Business” and provide information and referrals on doing business in Prince William County.

In May 2019, Michele joined the Department of Economic Development as a Business Development Manager with expertise in Information Technology. Promoted to Director of Business Retention and Engagement in October 2019, she has begun working with local businesses on retention and expansion issues. In this new role, Michele and the Small Business Manager, will be working with Federal, State, Local, and non-profit entities to discuss financial incentives and public/private partnerships to encourage expansion for Prince William businesses. The team is also busy creating a Prince William Small Business Resource Center to provide extensive small business and entrepreneurial resource guidance.
