At the same time, one of two new facilities recently announced by George Mason University is already under construction. The 106,000 square foot residential building will include 152 apartment style beds in 112 units, student lounge areas, study areas and instructional space. The building will also include 15,000 square feet of retail space that will "expand amenities to the campus and surrounding community" and mark the "first step in creating [the] adjacent town center," according to the University.
The facility carries a projected cost of $14 million and is slated for completion in late summer, 2012.
