August, 2010 – The Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative recently received six awards for their public relations outreach efforts. Five staff members were honored with the Communication Concepts, Inc. APEX award and one staff member received the Magnum Opus and the Missouri School of Journalism Magnum Opus award
"I’m pleased that our Public Relations staff members have been recognized for their effective communications by such respected organizations," says Mike Curtis, vice president, public relations. "Our goal is to provide information our customers want, from energy-saving ideas to news about power outages. These awards show we’re doing our job."
